Medical Schools at Risk, Leader Says
Medical schools need to loosen their devotion to outmoded practices at a time when genomics and stem-cell research are promising longer and healthier lives, an aging population is confronting chronic diseases, and minority patients are still receiving substandard care, the president of the Association of American Medical Colleges said at the association's annual meeting in Boston this month.
