Medical Schools Adopt New Research Rules

Most of the nation's accredited medical schools have adopted policies intended to prevent conflicts of interest in studies involving human subjects, according to a report released last week by the Association of American Medical Colleges.

David Korn, senior vice president of the association's division of biomedical and health-sciences research, said gaps and inconsistencies nonetheless remain.
