Medical School at Harvard Plans Big Changes in Curriculum

Big changes are afoot in the Harvard Medical School curriculum, The Boston Globe reported this morning. The school is trying to teach would-be doctors to better understand their patients’ lives and views, especially the difficulties stemming from problems in the health-care system. Under the new curriculum, third-year students will work in a single hospital for a whole year instead of rotating from one hospital to another for short stints. The change will give the students the chance to work with doctors and some patients for long stretches.
