Medical-School Chief Is Forced Out
Under pressure from the newly inaugurated Gov. Jon S. Corzine, the president of the scandal-plagued University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey has agreed to step down after just one year on the job.
John J. Petillo will receive $600,000, the equivalent of one year's salary, under a severance package, and will resign as director of the nation's largest public health-care university by the end of February.
