Median Pay Increase for Colleges' Midlevel Workers Beats Inflation

Midlevel administrators at colleges and universities received a median salary increase of 3.9 percent for the 2007-8 academic year, exceeding the rate of inflation, according to an annual survey released last week by the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources.

The increase is slightly greater than that of the 2006-7 academic year, at 3.8 percent.
