Measuring Success at Community Colleges

Given the fiscal and pedagogical realities confronted by many community colleges, I question several inferences drawn from the results of the Community College Survey of Student Engagement ("Community Colleges Struggle to Foster 'Engagement,' Survey Finds," The Chronicle, December 3).
