McMaster U. Woos Education Scholar With Job for His Wife; Temple U. Bolsters Its Philosophy Department
BUY TWO OR GET NONE: Pennsylvania State University at University Park is losing a prominent education scholar, Henry A. Giroux, 60, whose wife, Susan Searls-Giroux, failed to secure a tenure-track spot there. The couple is heading to McMaster University, in Hamilton, Ontario, where administrators have created an endowed chair in communications for Mr. Giroux, whose endowed chair at Penn State is in secondary education. Ms. Searls-Giroux, 35, will be given a tenure-track position in English.
