Mass. Governor Seeks to Free Some Colleges From Tenure and Most Regulations
The Governor of Massachusetts wants to eliminate tenure and collective bargaining at a few public colleges and turn them into "charter" institutions, which would receive taxpayer funds but would be freed from most state regulations on campus spending, construction, and new academic programs.
