Many Factors Keep Poor Teenagers From Pursuing a College Education
To the Editor:
What is the primary reason that students from low-income families are less likely to enroll in college ("Rift Grows Over What Keeps Low-Income Students Out of College," January 25)? The answer, I think, is simple. They don't see the value of education. And in central Appalachia, that vision might be pretty accurate.
