Many Colleges' Web Sites Fail to Post Online-Privacy Policies, Survey Finds
Many colleges in California are violating a state law requiring groups that collect personal information online from residents to post privacy policies and abide by them, a survey has found.
The findings of the survey, which was conducted last year by Bentley College and Watchfire, a Massachusetts software company, were released last month. They show that only a minority of colleges' Web sites have conspicuous privacy notices outlining how the institutions handle personal information
