Male Infertility Tied to Mutation in Y Chromosome

A biomedical researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology has discovered the first-known genetic mutation of the human Y chromosome that produces male infertility by preventing the production of sperm.

His finding, described in the December issue of the journal Nature Genetics, could help in the development of treatments for infertile men or the design of male contraceptives.
