Ms. Baird, 71, worked at Centre College for 40 years, before retiring as chairman of health and human performance in 1999.

Current activities

Ms. Baird is building homes for needy families through Habitat for Humanity International. Since retiring, she and her husband have traveled two or three times a year to places including Chile, the Dominican Republic, South Africa, and South Korea. In May, Ms. Baird will become
