Making Use of Data on Student 'Engagement'
To the Editor:
"Student 'Engagement' in Learning Varies Significantly by Major, Survey Finds" (November 14) states that there are few examples of institutions' using the National Survey of Student Engagement to make changes leading to greater student engagement. At Worcester Polytechnic Institute, we use the survey for exactly that purpose (a small case study appears on our student-outcomes Web site, http://www.wpi.edu/Academics/Outcomes). ...
