Make Teacher Education a Priority, College Presidents Are Told
College presidents should make teacher education a top priority for their institutions or get out of the business of training teachers, the American Council on Education said in a report released last week.
The council last year appointed 36 presidents, provosts, and deans, as well as leaders of education groups and public-school educators, to study teacher preparation.
