'Mail Bomb' Attack Threatens Web Site Popular With Diploma-Mill Watchdogs
The survival of Degreeinfo.com, an online forum on distance learning that is popular among diploma-mill watchdogs, students, and some college officials, has been threatened by anonymous attackers who barraged the Web site's domain-name server with 65,000 messages in one day.
The Web site's administrator, Chip White, says he doesn't know who perpetrated the "mail bomb" attack but suspects it was a diploma mill. He says the messages were sent by only a few people -- perhaps only one
