Magazine Ranks Canadian Colleges

In the new rankings of Canadian colleges by Maclean's magazine, the University of Waterloo, in Ontario, unseated last year's leader, the University of Guelph, in the category of "comprehensive universities."

The magazine defines comprehensive institutions as having a significant amount of research activity and a wide range of programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including professional degrees. This year Guelph, in Ontario, has the second spot; the University of Victoria,
