MTV Offers Grants to Student-Run Service Projects and Philanthropic Endeavors
As the music-video giant gets in tune with youth politics, it is also reaching its fingers further into college culture.
Last month MTVu began handing out grants to students in the name of "social entrepreneurship." Each week during the academic year, MTVu and Youth Venture, a national nonprofit group, will give $1,500 to a new student-run community-service organization or to an existing campus organization with a new philanthropic project.
