MIT and Ireland Plan New Technology-Research Center in Dublin
The Republic of Ireland and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology announced a partnership this month to establish and operate an independent research unit, patterned on the M.I.T. Media Lab, that will be dedicated to technological innovation.
MediaLabEurope, as it is to be known, will at the heart of a planned multimedia village here and is expected to open by next July. It will get off to a running start with help from faculty members, researchers, and students from the M.I.T.
