MIT Releases Software for Distance Education
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology is giving away course-management software it has developed to help institutions create and run online-learning programs.
The free software, called Caddie.net, is designed to help institutions build Web portals to run multiple facets of their online-education programs, including registration, course management, and online testing. Colleges can download the software from the institute's Web site at http://iesl.mit.edu.
