MIT Professor Says Pentagon Tried to Silence Him

A Massachusetts Institute of Technology professor has charged that Pentagon officials tried to prevent him from speaking out against a U.S. missile-defense program.

Theodore A. Postol, a professor of science, technology, and national-security policy, said that three agents of the Defense Security Service had arrived unannounced last month at his campus office. He said that they had tried to show him classified documents, but that he had refused to look at
