MIT Plans to Match Federal Pell Grants
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology will match students' federal Pell Grants, up to their maximum amount of $4,050, beginning next fall, the university announced last week.
Approximately 15 percent of MIT's undergraduates receive Pell Grants, which are awarded by the U.S. Department of Education to the country's neediest students, typically those with annual family incomes below $40,000.
