Lumina Conference Focuses on Affordability
Making college more affordable was the goal of state and federal legislators, business leaders, officials from colleges and higher-education associations, and others gathered for a conference here last week.
"There is no quick fix for rising college costs," said Martha D. Lamkin, president and chief executive of the Indianapolis-based Lumina Foundation for Education, which sponsored the conference. But "we hope to identify and capture some promising steps."
