Police officers have arrested a student at Loyola Marymount University, in Los Angeles, who is suspected of having posted an anonymous online threat to shoot people on the campus, the Associated Press reported. The university reported the threat, which appeared on a blog used primarily by students, to the Los Angeles Police Department around 11:30 a.m. Saturday, and officers were dispatched to patrol the campus as a precaution.
Investigators traced the threat to a computer registered to a 21-year-old senior identified as Carlos Huerta, police officials said. He was taken into custody on Saturday night near his apartment on the campus, the AP reported. It did not specify whether charges had been filed. —Charles Huckabee
