Louisiana State U. Settles Title IX Lawsuit
Louisiana State University said last week that it had agreed to pay $1.2-million to settle a lawsuit brought by five former women's soccer and softball players in 1994. The athletes had argued that LSU's Baton Rouge campus discriminated against women by failing to offer enough sports opportunities for them and lagged in providing support for the teams it did have.
