Louisiana State Estimates Rebuilding Hospitals Will Cost More Than $750-Million
Saying that at least one of its teaching hospitals in New Orleans is expected to be a total loss, officials from the Louisiana State University System last week urged the White House and members of Congress to support a rebuilding plan that could cost more than $750-million.
The officials stressed that the estimate is preliminary because it is too soon to know how much the task of rebuilding and replacing the medical school's infrastructure will cost. LSU's two main teaching hospitals
