Loan Relief Urged for Military
Four higher-education associations have asked the U.S. Education Department to expand financial relief for student-loan borrowers serving in the military, including paying for all interest accrued on their loans during their service.
In a letter sent on March 31, the associations said the education secretary, Roderick R. Paige, should use his broad authority under the Higher Education Relief Opportunities for Students Act of 2001, which was passed shortly after the September 11
