Lilly Endowment Gives $30-Million for Tribal Colleges

The American Indian College Fund has received $30-million from the Lilly Endowment, the largest private gift ever made to an Indian organization in the United States.

The grant starts the fund's "Campaign of Hope," a five-year capital campaign to raise at least $120-million. The fund will use the money to shore up the crumbling facilities of 30 tribal colleges, institutions that are typically housed in makeshift facilities, such as trailers and converted
