Library at New Mexico State U. to Cancel Hundreds of Subscriptions
A tight budget is forcing the library at New Mexico State University at Las Cruces to cancel nearly half of its 1,560 electronic and print subscriptions. The move, which will take effect in January 2011, has been driven by a cut of more than $600,000 in the library's materials budget this fiscal year.
Although more than 43,000 titles can be accessed through consortia with other libraries, fewer than 20 percent of the planned 738 cancellations are among that group, said
