Library Groups Plan a Merger That Will Fuse 2 Catalogs
Two major nonprofit library groups — the OCLC Online Computer Library Center and the Research Library Group — plan to merge this summer.
The Research Library Group, which is known as RLG, represents 150 academic libraries, museums, and other cultural organizations and has about 80 employees. OCLC provides services to some 54,000 libraries in 109 countries and has more than 1,200 employees worldwide.
