Libraries, IT Units, and Google
To the Editor:
While I take no issue with David W. Dodd's "fast-food model" for library and information-technology services ("Strains and Joys Color Mergers Between Libraries and Tech Units," The Chronicle, January 18), I respectfully disagree with his statement that colleges "have to be better than Google." When it comes to providing high-quality information resources to our students, academic libraries — supported by their IT colleagues — already do far better
