Legal Education Before Law School
To the Editor:
"Law for Laypeople" (The Chronicle, July 28) describes the pedagogical debates around undergraduate legal education, but it does not look at law schools as exclusive, elitist structures or at legal education in its present state as perpetuating such elitism.
The article quotes Robert Weisberg, a professor of law at Stanford University, as stating, "The danger is that if you proliferate undergraduate law programs, many of them are going to be like junior-varsity
