Leave of Absence Will Allow Ex-President of Indiana U. to Collect Deferred Compensation
Indiana University's Board of Trustees wants to make sure that the system's former president, Myles Brand, keeps his ties to the institution, even if it means waiting several years for him to finish leading the National Collegiate Athletic Association.
The board this winter granted Mr. Brand a six-year leave of absence in order to allow him to receive deferred compensation that had been added to his employment agreement in 1997. The total then was $302,000, but that amount could go
