Learning Gaps Worry Community Colleges
The most-pressing problems facing colleges nationwide are the flagging academic performances of some students and achievement gaps along gender and ethnic lines, according to community-college trustees and presidents who gathered in Orlando, Fla., this month for the annual meeting of the Association of Community College Trustees.
Many attendees and speakers expressed particular concern about the growing achievement gap between white and minority students and between male and female
