Learned Societies' Gathering Tackles Political and Publishing Challenges
The idea of crossing boundaries — national, disciplinary, and digital — defined this year's meeting of the American Council of Learned Societies, which took place here.
In an address to the assembled delegates, Pauline Yu, the group's president, talked about promoting collaborative research, helping scholars abroad, and marketing humanistic skills more adroitly in a world that undervalues them. One heard echoes of the theme of last year's Modern Language
