Lawmaker Urges U.S. to Take Action on Human Subjects
Congress may need to attach strings to appropriations for biomedical research unless federal officials move faster to improve oversight of studies involving human subjects, a congressman said at a hearing last week.
Rep. John L. Mica, the chairman of a House of Representatives government-reform subcommittee, accused the Department of Health and Human Services of "foot-dragging" in carrying out changes.
