Lawmaker Introduces Bill to Simplify Student-Aid Rules
U.S. Rep. Howard P. (Buck) McKeon introduced legislation last week that would ease a law requiring college drop-outs to repay part of their federal student-aid awards. The bill would also make clear that home-schooled students are eligible to receive federal financial aid, without having to first earn general high-school-equivalency diplomas.
The measure, HR 4866, is the product of a yearlong effort by Mr. McKeon, the California Republican who heads a House of Representatives
