Law School at U. of Detroit-Mercy Will Lay Off 7 of 25 Full-Time Faculty Members
Faced with a 50-per-cent enrollment decline over the past seven years, the University of Detroit-Mercy School of Law has announced that it will lay off seven of its 25 full-time professors.
Of those faculty members, 19 are tenured, two are untenured, and four are writing instructors on short-term contracts. Unless cuts are made in the writing program -- a step administrators have thus far refused to agree to
