Knoxville College Skipped Payroll
Some employees at Knoxville College, a private black institution that lost its accreditation six years ago, were not paid for as long as a month this year.
Officials blame a temporary cash-flow problem for the situation.
Barbara R. Hatton, president of the college, said it was "not able to meet obligations at the time, but we have the cash now."
"Everybody has been paid," she said, declining to elaborate on how the college came up with the money or how long some employees
