Key Congressman to Examine U.S. Appeals Court's Procedures in Deciding U. of Michigan Case
A federal appeals court has come under Congressional scrutiny over its handling of the lawsuit challenging the admissions policies of the University of Michigan Law School.
The inquiry stems from concerns that were raised by a dissenting judge when the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit upheld the law school's affirmative-action policies in a 5 to 4 ruling in May. In his dissenting opinion, Judge Danny J. Boggs had suggested that members of the majority may have manipulated
