Key Analyst for State-Colleges Association Moves to Group on College Affordability

Travis J. Reindl, an oft-quoted national analyst of state higher-education policy, has left his job at the American Association of State Colleges and Universities to work on college-affordability issues for Jobs for the Future, a Boston-based nonprofit advocacy group.

Mr. Reindl served as director of state-policy analysis for the public-college association, where he had worked since 1997. At Jobs for the Future, he will lead the group’s involvement in a national campaign that focuses on broadening access to college and making higher education more affordable. He began his new position today.

The national campaign is financed by the Lumina Foundation for Education, an Indianapolis-based nonprofit group that held a daylong national conference on college costs last fall (The Chronicle, November 3, 2005).

“I am humbled by the opportunity to join this great organization and tackle the challenges associated with making college opportunity affordable for all Americans,” Mr. Reindl said.
