Kent State Hits the Funny Pages

Few who were at Kent State University on May 4, 1970, can forget the searing images of the students' antiwar rally: the tear gas, the National Guard's confused march across the campus amid taunts and rock-throwing. Then, four students shot dead by the guardsmen.

For many, Kent State became a poignant symbol of the terrible hypocrisy of the Vietnam War. But on the 30th anniversary of the shootings, two alumni are commemorating the event in America's funny pages.
