Keeping Track of Web Sites

I read with interest the story about neglected World-Wide Web sites (On Line, October 30). All librarians are aware of Web links to nowhere and Web pages left for dead.

University of Delaware Library staff have written a linkchecker program to deal with such possibilities for all Web links from library Web pages. The linkchecker identifies those U.R.L.'s that have changed or are no longer
