Kaplan to Open Education School
Kaplan Inc. has announced that it plans to open a school of education in the 2004-5 academic year, and that it has hired the former chancellor of the New York City school system, Harold O. Levy, to run the new venture.
Kaplan, which already operates a law school and 46 undergraduate colleges, has made no secret of its ambitions in higher education. Company officials said they hoped that the school of education, announced in March, would draw a student body made up largely of working
