Judge Says U. of Arizona Was 'Arbitrary and Capricious' in Firing a Tenured Professor

A state judge has ruled that the University of Arizona's firing of a prominent tenured medical professor for alleged scientific misconduct was "arbitrary and capricious."

The judge said he lacked the authority to reinstate the professor, but he ordered the state's Board of Regents to hold "further proceedings consistent with this order."
