Judge Rejects Stem-Cell Challenge
A California judge has ruled that legal challenges to the constitutionality of the state's $3-billion stem-cell initiative have no merit.
Judge Bonnie Lewman Sabraw, of the State Superior Court in Alameda County, said in a ruling in April that the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine, as a legitimate state agency, should be able to issue up to $300-million in bonds annually over the next decade to pay for research on stem cells derived from human embryos.
