Judge Keeps Sami Al-Arian in Jail for an Additional 18 Months
Sami Al-Arian's three-year ordeal behind bars seemed to be nearing an end, but it just got an unexpected extension. Calling the former computer-engineering professor a "master manipulator," a federal judge in Florida last week sentenced him to serve one and a half more years in jail before he is deported on terrorism-related charges.
