Judge Dismisses Lawsuit Against VMI, Saying It Has Assimilated Women
The Virginia Military Institute has successfully assimilated women into its student body, a federal judge ruled last month.
U.S. District Judge Jackson L. Kiser dismissed the nine-year- old lawsuit that ended the institute's male-only admissions policy. Judge Kiser ruled that the state and V.M.I. "have successfully formulated, adopted and implemented a plan" that provides women equal treatment as guaranteed
