Judge Criticizes Pace of Work by U.S. Agencies on 'Kennewick Man' Bones

A federal judge chastised two government agencies last week for dragging their feet in deciding whether to allow a team of prominent scientists to study the 9,300-year-old remains of the Kennewick Man.

U.S. Magistrate Judge John Jelderks said "remarkably little" had been accomplished by the Interior Department and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in the three years in which they have kept the skeleton. He gave the agencies six months to complete the tests
