Journalism Doesn't Happen Only in Big Cities
To the Editor:
After 40 years in journalism, I must ... take exception to the unending reliance of critics and commentators on what appears, or does not appear, in The New York Times and its ilk as indicative of the state of journalism. I refer, in this instance, to Carlin Romano's essay on the presumed diminution of newspapers' coverage of the arts ("Arts Journalism Longa, Space Shorta," The Review, June 7).
