Johns Hopkins Undergoes Cosmetic Surgery

The Johns Hopkins University, at pains to make clear it has not endorsed a line of cosmetics, announced today that it was severing its ties to Klinger Advanced Aesthetics, a maker of skin-care products that a Wall Street Journal article last week said appeared to bear the stamp of approval of Johns Hopkins Medicine (The Chronicle, April 5).

According to an article in today’s Baltimore Business Journal, Hopkins will no longer invest in the company, and the Cosmedicine products will no longer prominently carry the Hopkins name. The university also said it was reviewing its principles for forging relationships with businesses.
